Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center seeks volunteers for the

WEAR IT - National Safe Boating Week Event


The Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center (Marine Museum) seeks volunteers for the - Ready, Set, Wear It! Life Jacket World Record Day.

Come join the fun and help spread the word about boating safety.

Where:              Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center - 600 Canal Park Drive, Duluth, MN


The mission of the "Wear It!" campaign, is to raise awareness of life jacket wear and boating safety in general in the hopes of saving lives on and around the water.

Since its first year, nearly 20,000 people have participated in this one-day educational and outreach event to bring awareness to the importance of life jacket wear.

Lake Superior Marine Museum Association Announces

“Spring Break Up” Drawing Winner                                                                 

The Lake Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA) is pleased to announce the winner of the annual “Spring Break Up” drawing.  The winner of the “Spring Break Up” drawing was drawn after the first Great Lakes Fleet/Key Lakes ship went under the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge.  Congratulation goes to Craig P. Nelson of Osceola, Wisconsin.


Craig and a guest, will enjoy a round-trip cruise aboard the Great Lakes Fleet/Key Lakes, Inc. 1,000-foot ore carrier, the Edwin H. Gott.  The winners will set sail from Two Harbors or Duluth, Minnesota, and cruise through the Soo Locks and the St. Mary’s River.  The 5.5 day cruise will be scheduled for later this summer.


LSMMA still conducts its “Cruise of a Lifetime” raffle.  Tickets for the annual “Cruise of a Lifetime” raffle will go on sale in April.  The “Cruise of a Lifetime” drawing will be held during the 2015 Gales of November, LSMMA’s educational, fundraising and networking benefit.  The raffle drawing will take place on Saturday, November 7 at 5:00pm at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.  Contact LSMMA or visit their website for raffle ticket pricing and details.
