Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster film directed, written, co-produced, co-edited and partly financed by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage. Nominated for fourteen Academy Awards, it won eleven, including the awards for Best Picture and Best Director, tying Ben Hur (1959) for most Oscars won by a single film. With an initial worldwide gross of over $1.84 billion, it was the first film to reach the billion-dollar mark. It remained the highest-grossing film of all time, until Cameron's 2009 film Avatar surpassed its gross in 2010. A 3D version of the film, released on April 4, 2012 (often billed as Titanic 3D) to commemorate the centenary of the sinking of the ship, earned it an additional $343.6 million worldwide, pushing Titanic's worldwide total to $2.18 billion. It became the second film to gross more than $2 billion worldwide.

2014 Gales of November
Silent Auction

Dear Business Owner,

Lake Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA) seeks your support to help preserve the maritime history of the Great Lakes and support the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center (LSMVC,) located in Canal Park at the foot of the Aerial Lift Bridge in Duluth, Minnesota.

Lake Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA) is finalizing many details for its largest annual fundraiser, the Gales of November Benefit, which will be held in Duluth, November 7 and 8, 2014 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.

Would your organization like to help the association and make a donation to the Gales of November silent auction?  Participation in the auction gives your company exposure at Gales of November as well as online.

The Gales of November Silent Auction is like no other.  Maritime enthusiasts come from all over the United States to bid on everything maritime and Duluth related: tug boat ropes, life jackets, photography, hotel stays, dining and much, much more.

What began over 25 years ago as a small gathering of divers sharing shipwreck pictures has grown into a festive two-day educational and networking event. Gales of November features fascinating exhibits, lectures, presentations – and of course, the ever popular silent auction.  The funds raised at the Gales of November Benefit help maintain and protect maritime history at the Lake Superior Maritime Visitors Center (LSMVC) located in historic Canal Park.

Help LSMMA and Duluth’s Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center celebrate,

explore and preserve Great Lakes maritime heritage, while promoting your business.

Just complete the donor agreement form and mail certificates or items to the LSMMA Office.

Please contact the LSMMA if you have donation items that need to be picked up.
